LEARNING ABOUT LEARNING COMMUNITIES

Come join us at a roundtable exchange to learn more about learning communities. Instructors, students, and staff involved in the learning community pilot program of Spring 2004 and Fall 2004 will present qualitative and quantitative findings from those first two crucial semesters. Statistics on retention, completion, and attrition as well as anecdotal data will be highlighted. This Flex activity is perfect for faculty who want to be informed about the workings of the learning community team as well as for instructors contemplating developing a link, but unsure how to proceed. Participants will be given plenty of ideas on how to integrate curriculum and motivate students toward success. Presenters: Karen Lubick, Diane Flores-Kagan, Dr. Irit Gat, Desdemona Ginosian, Dr. Susan Lowry, Dr. Matthew Jaffe, Dr. Igor Marder, Mary Margaret McGuire and Katie Rivas

Time 9:30-11:30a.m.
