This workshop will take a look at the Second Amendment to our Constitution and discuss many of the issues surrounding the right of the private citizen to keep and bear arms. Some of the following are questions that will b discussed. What is the purpose of the Second Amendment? What does it really stand for and why is it still under attack? Why do certain parts of our society believe they will have a more secure life if the Second Amendment does not exist? What are some of the fears of removing the Second Amendment from our Constitution? Why should any of the other amendments be more sacred than the Second? Why have over 20,000 gun-control laws enacted over the past century not affected the criminal? What is the history behind the writing of the Second Amendment and what is its future? Presenters: John Knapp and Susan McGarey Knapp
