Clarke Turner, a Director of Operations for the Department of Energy in Casper,
Wyoming, presents a riveting slide show presentation focusing on Iraq during
and immediately preceding the Iraq War of 2003. Turner led a team from the Department
of Energy to assist the Department of Defense in restoring the Iraq Oil Ministry
and help the Iraqi people in restoring their oil infrastructure in the event
it was damaged by Saddam or Coalition forces during the war. An amateur photographer
as well, Turner offers a fascinating array of photos, with his very revealing
and knowledgeable commentary, beginning with the Pentagon, and culminating with
various hot spots in Iraq during and after the war. Among the highlights: fires
burning out of control in the desert and the attempts to contain them, bizarre
defaced statues and portraits of Saddam, immediate results of Americas
military invasion and rebuilding efforts, the military in action, Saddams
palaces, the reactions of Iraqi people on the streets and in the government,
and more. A rare privileged glimpse into the workings of the American government
and civilian support groups during and directly after the Iraq War. Coordinator
